“No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun”

by on 07/11/2012

This is one of those posts where I don’t really know what to talk about but I feel like posting anyway. Here goes.

Friggin’ Gossip Girl. This show fuels me now. I’m not saying it’s the most intelligent show, but it is extremely entertaining. In the first season, I sided with Serena (Blake Lively, see her in Savages). In the second season, I took a liking to Blair (the lovely Leighton Meester). Chuck has become a character to root for despite his always shrouded intentions. He constantly does awesome stuff and has a sense of style that could have torn down the Berlin Wall. Uh, we can move on now I guess.

I just finished reading Casino Royale by Ian Fleming a few days ago. It was a quick, fun read that gave a cool look into everyone’s favorite double-0 agent. I saw the movie a while ago and it is probably my favorite of the Bond movies. The book is my favorite of the books that I have read so far. The torture scene is just as gripping in the book as it is in the movie. I like this story a lot because the villain, Le Chiffre, isn’t someone too hard to imagine. He is simply a rogue SMERSH agent trying to raise the funds to pay off a debt due to a financial disaster. He is a master Baccarat player (from what I could understand, it’s similar to Blackjack) and uses a high stakes game to try to raise the money to save his life. I like the book version of Bond more than the movies (excluding the most two recent ones) since he is a colder and more serious character. Daniel Craig has done a great job of portraying him.

Since I finished Casino Royale, I’ve started Pet Sematary by Stephen King. I am not very far into it yet but I am enjoying it. It feels good to go back to King because he writes in a style that I find easily approachable. I’ve known he is my favorite author but I reassured myself when I found myself reading the forward with as much enthusiasm as the novel.

Wow, The Dark Knight Rises is in a week.

I purchased Fear 3 recently and have been plowing through it. I’m loving it so far and can’t wait to play though co-op. It is definitely not as creepy as the other installments but I am enjoying it more than them. It is a solid shooter that I recommend.

I guess that’s all I have to say. Enjoy the rest of your week and go see Batman!
